Which of them destroys the ozone layer?

  • Chlorofluorocarbons have been identified as the main cause of the destruction to the ozone layer.
  • But when chlorine and bromine atoms come into contact with ozone in the stratosphere, they destroy ozone molecules.
  • The ozone layer prevents the most harmful wavelength of ultraviolet (UV) light from passing through the Earth's atmosphere.
  • These wavelengths couse skin cancer, sunburn, permanent blindness, and as well as harming plants and animals.
